Carstairs Community Clutter Clean-up Day:
Saturday, May 13, 2017 in your neighborhood from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Before you throw it in the garbage - put it out on your front lawn and recycle it!
Remember to pick up and use your Town sign. Any items left over bring them to the Annual Spring Clean Up on May 27th!

We will accept the following: Wood, plastic, house hold garbage, paint and metal. No fridges or freezers with freon , no recycables and no compost. If everything is sorted it would make drop off alot quicker. Carstairs Residents ONLY Please.

The Town of Carstairs, Carstairs Connections, and Alberta Health encourage the community to celebrate the first day of summer!
You can enter as a family or an individual participant. All funds raised will go to support "Friends Of The Carstairs Library".
Package Pickup at 8:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Gazebo and the Walk/Run begins at 9:00am.

Beef & Barley Days: 3rd Week in July
July 14, 15 & 16, 2017. Festivities include a rodeo, fireworks display, pancake breakfast and one of the best parades in rural Alberta. There's a trade & craft show, kids games & activities, pet show, ball games and food venders as well as a roast beef supper followed by a cabaret!
Horticulture & Craft Show: 3rd Weekend in August
Sponsored by the Green Thumbs & Friends & Carstairs Agricultural Society and housed at the Carstairs Curling Rink.

Drive in Movie: Tuesday, August 29, 2017 - Parking opens at 6:30 pm
The Town of Carstairs proudly presents this fun event for the whole family. The parking lot at Memorial Arena will become the stage for our annual drive in movie. This event has become one of the most anticipated and appreciated evenings of the year in our Community. Once you've parked and while you're waiting for DUSK why not head inside the arena and visit the Parenting Fair & Multi-Organization Registration Night.
Watch for posters to find out what the movie will be this year! There is no charge for this event; we just ask that you bring along an item for our youth food bank. Of course, the concession will be open with fresh popcorn!

The Parenting Fair offers goodie bags, door prizes, glitter, tattoos, refreshments, snacks and so much more! In conjunctIon with the Multi-Organization Registration at the Carstairs Memorial Arena. Walk for the Health of It:
Walk for the Health of it is a joint initiative between the Town of Carstairs and Carstairs Connections. It begins each November and finishes up in April. Participants can register online and log in their weekly steps or kilometers.
We are able to track the group's progress as well as each individual walker. Walkers can choose where they'd like to exercise whether it is on a treadmill, the streets or the walking track at the Carstairs Memorial Arena. Everyone is encouraged to join!
Pumpkin Festival:TBA 12:00 - 4:00PM @ the Carstairs Curling Rink
The Pumpkin Festival began in 1984 as a way to put Carstairs on the map! There is a little something for everyone.Come view our pumpkin contests, taste our delicious pies, and shop our local vendors' tables for home made baking, crafts, and preserves.
There are table rentals, a pumpkin and scarecrow competition, the Pumpkin King and Queen, entertainment, baking competition and a mini trade show.

Remembrance Day Ceremonies at the Royal Canadian Legion: November 11, 2017
Ceremonies are held at the Community Hall and at the Cenotaph at Memorial Park (TBA)

Christmas Craft Fair: TBA 2pm - 8pm and 10am-4pm
The Christmas Craft Fair is held at the Carstairs Community Hall each November. Local artists sell jewelry, crafts,
specialty items, baked goods, and a variety of other unique items. Vendors Needed!!!

Crazy Carstairs Christmas: TBA
A magical night in Carstairs when the town transforms into a winter wonderland for both children and parents. The Chamber of Commerce presents its annual Carstairs Crazy Christmas.
This night offers a chance to scoop up late night shopping with excellent deals from local merchants and is also a time for families to enjoy exciting festivities downtown. There are free hot dogs, hot chocolate and coffee. Kids will also be able to play with Puffy and Pudgy, the penguins, who are always a hit. And the best part of all? The fireworks!
Santa's Gone Looney: Saturday, TBA 10am - 2pm
Kids: join us upstairs at the arena and our team of Christmas Experts will help you pick out that perfect gift for mom and dad. Bring one loony per gift and shop away! We'll wrap it up tight so no parents can peek!!!
Parents: Please send gift bags with your kids to speed up the wrapping line!
If you have some items that you would like to donate, they can be dropped off at either the Town Office or the Arena Concession. (Deliveries are only accepted in October, November and December)

Carstairs "Light up the Night"TBA
Competition Judging! Turn on your Christmas Lights starting at 6:30 p.m. the judges will be driving around Carstairs to pick out the top three homes decorated in the Spirit of Christmas!
We will be announcing 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners. Winners will receive Carstairs Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificates ($100/$75/$50). Winning entrants must meet these terms and conditions:
- Must be within the Town of Carstairs limits.
- Excludes any commerial exhibit.
- Winners agree to have their name, address and photos of their home displayed on the Town of Carstairs Website www.carstairs.ca
- Judges will be driving by your home at an undisclosed time after sunset.
