2015 LIGHT UP THE NIGHT WINNERS
The judging took place on the evening of December 16, 2015.  

These picture's do not do the presentation justice.  We are encouraging residents and guests to take a drive and take in the lights of the winners along with all the other participants.  Carstairs has out done itself this year; thank you all for taking the time to shine a light and brighten spirits this holiday season!!

 2014/2015 PROVINCAL SPORTS AWARDS

Council recognized and awarded trophies to the 2014/2015 Provincial Sports Awards Athletes the following sports; Para-Swimming, Vaulting, Horseshoe Pitching, Cross Country, Girls Golf, U-18 Girls Soccer, and Hockey.
At a National Level, U-19 Field Lacrosse and Canadian Age Group Nationals. 
Congratulations to all the athletes, coaches and parents.

"A LONG WAY HOME" PTSD AWARENESS www.thelongwayhome.ca

Kate MacEachern, a retired Corporal in the Canadian military is walking to show her support for PTSD awareness.   Kate is walking from Nipawin, SK, leaving on May 1st, to Chilliwack, BC where the 2015 Wounded Warriors Weekend will be held.
Kate made a brief stop here in Carstairs where Katie was greeted by Carstairs residents, members of the Legion and Mayor Lance Colby.  Legion members Norma Disney and Dave Horrocks were please to present Kate with a generous donation of $600.00 to put towards her "The Long Way Home" campaign for PTSD awareness.Mayor, Legion, Katie MacEachern

2015 RAISING OF THE NEW CARSATIRS CAMPGROUND COOKHOUSE

During the final weekend of May over 30 volunteers participated in rebuilding the camp kitchen; this could not have been accomplished without your selfless commitment and efforts! 
A special thanks to the following people and businesses:    
Equipment and supplies provided by Wade Ayers at Strad Energy, Dennis Schmick with Flaman Rentals and Jason Lummerding from Lummerding Roofing.  Food and beverage provided by, Cortney Moffat with 2- Guys Trailers, Donna Marshall with Remax, Jody Keller with Pharmasave and Wade Ayers.  Larry Bishop for providing his carpentry expertise and a full weeks' worth of his time in completing the project and a special shout out to young Wyatt Ayers for running a magnet for 8 hours to pick up all the left over nails.Campground Cookhouse
